The Guppylab demo is a NativePHP Mobile app built with Push Direct and Routing, exactly as you would ship them. Install it, send yourself a push from our server, and see the road distance to a handful of stores.
Android is live on Google Play. On iPhone, install Apple's TestFlight app first; the App Store version is in review.
Push Direct
On iOS the push goes from our server straight to Apple with a .p8 key, with no Firebase in the app. On Android it goes through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Open Push Direct and tap Enable notifications. You will see the permission turn to granted and the device token (APNs on iPhone, FCM on Android). If you declined before, the button opens Settings instead.
- Pick “with image” and tap Send me a test push. A notification for order #4321 arrives with a picture and two buttons. Tap Track order and the app opens on the order screen, and knows which button you tapped.
- Now close the app and send another. Swipe the app away from your recent apps first, then tap the notification. The tap still lands on the order screen, from a cold start.
- Pick “silent” and send. Nothing shows on screen, yet the app's PHP receives it: it appears in the live feed below the button.
Up to 5 test pushes per hour per device. What Push Direct does →
Routing
On iOS the distances come from Apple's MapKit, on the device, at no cost. On Android they come from the routing provider the app is configured with.
- Open Routing and choose a starting point. Use your location, or search any place or address. The stores are made up and sit in São Paulo, so a starting point there tells the best story.
- Compare straight line and by road. The nearest store as the crow flies is not always the nearest by road, and the list reorders to show it.
- Change how you travel. Another mode of travel, no tolls, leave at or arrive by a given time — each one is a new route.
- Tap a store. Apple Maps or Google Maps opens with the directions.
Your device token is sent to our server only when you tap Send me a test push, to deliver that push. Details are in the privacy policy.
